Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence
P.O. Box 877, Barnstable, MA 02630

Join Us for Our Meeting on June 5, 2019

10:30 am, Cape Cod Synagogue, 145 Winter Street, Hyannis, MA

Almost one year has lapsed since Governor Charlie Baker signed into law the Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) legislation. Our guest speaker, Deputy Police Chief Steven Xiarhos of the Yarmouth Police Department, will discuss how this law impacts the police, how his department has implemented and used it, and if there are ways that the ERPO law might need to be improved.

We will also like to hear any suggestions that he might have for our group to help bring gun safety issues to the attention of the communities of Cape Cod. Deputy Police Chief Xiarhos has been a strong supporter of Grandmothers Against Gun Violence and has demonstrated this by joining us at our "Rally at the Rotary".

Deputy Police Chief Xiarhos joined the Yarmouth Police Department in 1978, serving in a wide range of positions throughout his career, currently holding the rank of Deputy Police Chief. He attended Northeastern University, Cape Cod Community College, and holds a Master's Degree from Anna Maria College with a focus in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration.
