What We Do

Coming Together of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence and the Ohio Council of Churches

With OCAGV's dedication to changing the culture to one of non-violence in a climate that has normalized guns and killings, OCAGV saw the need to ensure continued efforts to carry on its strong voice and focus on reducing gun violence in Ohio.

Coming together with the Ohio Council of Churches – an organization committed to unity, justice and peace – was a divine match. The beliefs, passion and compassion of both organizations will continue to serve Ohioans and help assure their safety from gun violence in all forms – homicides, suicides or unintentional shootings.

In collaboration with OCC, which now leads the charge, efforts will be ongoing to educate and create awareness on Ohio legislation – both for bills that could be detrimental to the cause and bills that support efforts to reduce gun violence. Paramount to these efforts is continuing to promote non-violence for Ohio families and their children and helping to facilitate and advocate for solutions that serve all Ohioans and preserve a sense of safety and community. https://www.ohcouncilchs.org/gunviolenceprevention

As OCAGV and OCC continue their transitional collaboration efforts, we offer our joint commitment and desire to come together as one stronger voice and messaging directed to changing the level of gun violence that is plaguing Ohio – as it is across the country.

The Ohio Council of Churches can be reached at info@ohcouncilchs.org or 614.372.8010. Donations to prevent gun violence can be made on their website, https://www.ohcouncilchs.org/ or sent to them at 125 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
