“Free the Tree” – Earth Day with GPC

April 22, 2022, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Great Peninsula Conservancy (GPC) for our Earth Day stewardship event at the new Hansville Greenway Expansion! “Free the Tree” is an opportunity to create survival rings around the property’s native conifers. By removing invasive species from the base of the tree, we reduce competition for sunlight and resources and improve the tree’s chances of survival. Reforestation is a slow and painstaking process, but with your help, we can take the first steps toward a restored forest landscape in the Hansville Greenway Expansion!

We will be at the Hansville Greenway Expansion on April 22nd, and we need your support to ensure the survival of these native trees!

Activities:

  • Removing invasive blackberry and scotch broom.
  • Remember to dress in warm layers and pack rain gear.
  • Tools and gloves will be provided.

Where: Hansville Greenway Expansion, meeting at Buck Lake parking lot:

6959 Buck Lake Rd NE, Hansville, WA 98340

When: Friday April 22nd, 9am to 12pm
