PRI in the Media

China’s Demographic Time Bomb: PRI President Steven Mosher outlined the effects on China after decades of the one-child policy. The results of this CCP policy may be impossible for President Xi to negate, even with the three-child policy or eventual birth coercion. Read Here

Hong Kong Sanctions: PRI President Steven Mosher appeared on the Chris Salcedo show to review the dissonance between media outlets in the U.S. and China for policies in Hong Kong. Beijing, under the CCP, has experienced backlash from the U.S. and Great Britain for ignoring the 50 year commitment signed with Hong Kong. Meanwhile Chinese State media has criticized the Trump era sanctions on Hong Kong that Biden has kept in place. Segment begins at [00:16:58] Watch Here

An “Overpopulated” Planet: Lead Researcher of PRI, Dr. Christopher Manion, appeared on TRT World to debate “overpopulation” with Senior Researcher of The Overpopulation Project, Philip Cafaro. Dr. Manion successfully rebutted Cafaro’s arguments to decrease births for the purpose of combating climate change.  Debate begins at [00:15:00] Watch Here

“PRI Experts often debate population control-minded people from around the world,” says PRI President Mosher. “Here is our own Dr. Christopher Manion debating a leading proponent on Turkish television. But while we are always ready to debate the opposition and advance our Pro-Life views, the other side is often not. I once offered to debate my former Stanford University colleague Paul Ehrlich at the time and place of his choosing. He failed to answer the challenge, just as his arguments of overpopulation have failed the test of reality.”

Demography is Destiny

“Enlightened” Celebrities: Royal couple Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were presented with an award from a pro-population control charity called Population Matters. Their achievement was the “enlightened decision”, as it was described by the population control group, to have no more than their two children. Read Here

“The ‘Woke’ couple, who are on the outs with the rest of the British royal family, are accepting an award from a population control group for pledging to have only two children, ” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Since Meghan Markle will be 40 in a couple of weeks, this is more virtue signaling than anything else.  But what “virtue” is there in accepting an award from a group whose leaders have virtually endorsed China’s one-child policy?”

UN Misdeeds

The Controversial Compact: The UN Agency for Women has asked countries to sign a compact introduced at the recent Generation Equality Forum. According to the Center for Family and Human Rights, this agreement includes “abortion-related language in the security and humanitarian space and promotes sexual orientation and gender identity as categories of international humanitarian law.” Read Here

“During the War in Kosovo, PRI sent an investigator to look into reports that UN refugee camps were promoting and performing abortions,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Our researcher talked to the head doctor of one of the camps, who became angry when we accused him of violating the law by providing abortions. The doctor said ‘They’re refugees! They can’t have children!’ What the UN Agency for Women is proposing is that we legitimize this practice. Refugees need food, water, and shelter, they do not need to be aborted.”

Communist China

Student Censorship Abroad: Chinese exchange students found that despite escaping their home country they cannot escape the reach of the CCP. At Australian universities, these students were watched by the Chinese government with their pro-democracy behavior resulting in consequences for their families back home. Read Here

“The Chinese Communist Party considers all Chinese whether born in China, Taiwan, or the United States to be under its jurisdiction,” says PRI President Mosher. “They routinely harass and threaten overseas Chinese. Of late, they have even taken to harassing and threatening people who are not of Chinese extraction, including me. I myself have gotten a call from the Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C. telling me they need to talk to me. Of course I didn’t return the call, but that just goes to show that the Bully of Asia wants to dominate not just China but the world.”

DNA Data Collection: A Chinese gene company, the BGI Group, has been selling prenatal tests around the world to collect millions of women’s genetic data. The tests were developed in collaboration with the country’s military. BGI will not reveal how many women took the test abroad, but claims that it has only stored data on women in mainland China. Read Here

“Would the Chinese Communist Party that imposed a one-child policy on its own people, hesitate to develop an anti-fertility virus or vaccine to drive down the birthrate elsewhere? To ask this question is to answer it,” says PRI President Mosher.  “We need to forbid the collection of genomic data by any and all entities connected to China.”

Science Gone Mad

DIY Chimeric Embryos: Scientists from the University of Buffalo have published a how-to guide to creating human-mouse embryos. This move came a year after finding they were able to create millions of mature human cells in a mouse embryo. Read Here

Pro-Life Around the World

Major Victory: In a recent victory, two extreme abortion proposals that would have been added to the United Kingdom’s Police, Crime, Sentencing, and Courts Bill failed. These could have allowed abortion-on-demand until birth for any reason, as well as prison sentences for offering options to women besides abortion clinics nationwide.  Read Here

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Hyde Removed: This past Monday House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) Subcommittee passed, by voice vote, the FY2022 LHHS Appropriations Bill. The Hyde and Hyde-Weldon Amendments were not included in the final text. Read more

“Joe Biden’s budget left out the pro-life protections of the Hyde Amendment,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Now the Party of Abortion is voting down the line to remove it from budget to be passed by Congress.  If you are wondering who ‘won’ the election, the answer is obvious:  Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. Without Hyde, the number of babies killed in abortion will dramatically increase–and with it their Satanic profits.”

UCSF Harvested Humans: After two years, Pro-Life San Francisco has received confirmation that the University of California, San Francisco harvests human fetal body parts for experimentation. The University attempted to ignore the activist’s request, only caving when the group retained legal counsel. Read Here

Combatting Campus Abortions: Pro-Life agencies, such as Legacy Pregnancy Center, have introduced more outreach to college campuses. With the expansion of abortion services and supporters onto college campuses occurring in multiple states, Pro-Life action is necessary to aid vulnerable college students who don’t know all their options. Good News

Congratulations Graduate: A recent graduate and budding Pharmacist, this young woman proved that it is possible to achieve your dreams even with an unplanned pregnancy. Quote of the Week:

July 16th, Feast Day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

“Mary has never ceased to follow us with her maternal gaze, to safeguard within us the life of grace. Each time we are converted and return to God or rise again after falling into sin–be it great or small–each time we increase in grace, all, everything, is affected through Mary’s mediation.”
