Since 2006, Stephen Gong has been the Executive Director of the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM), a public media and cultural non-profit organization located in San Francisco. He has previously held senior management positions at the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the American Film Institute. 

 

Stephen has also been a lecturer in the Asian American Studies program at UC Berkeley, a writer about film history, and a historian on Asian films. He is the Board Chair of the Chinatown Media and Arts Collaborative; Board Chair of the Center for Rural Strategies; Board member of the Ninth Street Independent Film Center and serves on the Advisory Board of the San Francisco Silent Film Society.
