Tell the USFS to reverse their decision allowing Canadian company KORE Mining to drill on the traditional homelands of the Kootzaduka’a people, a few miles outside Mammoth Lakes, California. A world-class fishing destination cherished by generations of hikers, campers, bikers and hot tub soakers, this fragile ecosystem is home to endangered species and supports a thriving local recreation economy. KORE will not create local jobs, and will leave taxpayers the burden of cleaning up their mess on land that will never truly recover.

Where is Hot Creek?

Hot Creek is located within 10 miles of Mammoth Lakes, California. The proposed site (in yellow) sits adjacent to Hot Creek, a unique geologic site, and is located near the headwaters of the Owens River.

About

On September 27, 2021, the USFS granted Canadian company KORE Mining a Categorical Exclusion (CE) to drill at Hot Creek Geologic Site. After a recent battle in court, the project has been temporarily halted! Click to learn more about our recent win in court, KORE Mining, what’s at risk, and how you can help protect this fragile ecosystem.
