COACHING DESIGNED FOR CHURCH LEADERS

“You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just take the next right step.” – Jemar Tisby

NEXT Church has a team of trained coaches who accompany leaders and congregations towards embodied wholeness, justice, and transformation. We believe God calls and equips congregations and leaders to transform individuals and communities. NEXT Steps Coaching accompanies congregations and leaders to uncover creative, experimental, and courageous ideas in order to take bold next steps in a supportive environment.

Coaching is a one-to-one or group relationship that helps individuals identify goals and develop a strategy for meeting those goals. A coach’s job is to listen deeply, ask questions, and accompany leaders towards action and impact. Coaching is different from consulting. Whereas a consultant comes with expert advice, a coach works with the tools, knowledge and resources you already have to move an individual or group toward their goals.

NEXT Steps Coaching can be a vital ingredient for healthy church leaders. In fact, most of us have had the experience of attending a conference and feeling excited to lead transformation in our communities — only to have that excitement dissipate as the daily demands of ministry set in. NEXT Steps Coaching is an initiative designed to support leaders as they shepherd their communities through real and lasting change.

Coaching is a one-on-one or group relationship that helps individuals identify goals and develop a strategy for meeting those goals. A coach’s job is to listen deeply and ask powerful questions. They help leaders examine the internal and external barriers that get in the way of their own effectiveness, fruitfulness, or joy.

A study featured in Public Personnel Management Journal reports that managers who underwent a training program showed an increased effectiveness of 22%, but those who were coached following the training increased their effectiveness by 88%. Because of this, NEXT Steps Coaching helps leaders bridge the gap between intention and action.
