TAKE ACTION NOW!
Encounter for Our Common Home

A National Catholic Campaign for Climate Solutions

Spring 2022

Dear Friend,

Please join Catholics across the country who are urging their senator to support $555 billion in climate solutions that lower national greenhouse gas emissions and help communities build resilience against the impacts of climate change

TAKE ACTION!

The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reaffirms that we must dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions to prevent the most catastrophic impacts of climate change upon our common home and future. Renewable energy reduces reliance on destabilizing petrostates, and must be a significant energy source for a peaceable future. We are tragically reminded that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is funded by profits from the export of oil and gas.

We need senators from both political parties to support legislation that reduces dependence on fossil fuels, addresses the climate crisis, and improves prospects for a thriving and peaceful future, especially our most vulnerable neighbors. Some ambitious solutions already exist in the $555 billion in climate provisions within legislation the Senate is considering now. Senators can make profoundly beneficial decisions about our shared future by passing this legislation full of climate solutions.

The time to take action is NOW!
