Virtual Public Hearing!

Stop the world's largest fracked gas to methanol refinery!

-

For years, the world’s largest fracked gas to methanol facility has faced public opposition because of its threat to the climate and the enormous amount of pollution it would inflict on nearby communities.

Now, amid a global pandemic, it's more important than ever that we reject this dangerous, polluting facility. We know that air pollution from fossil fuels amplifies the risk to vulnerable communities from the coronavirus. The last thing we need right now is a huge fracked gas facility that would put them at even greater risk.

The Washington Department of Ecology is holding a series of three virtual public hearings regarding its new draft supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS), which will assess the proposed methanol refinery's greenhouse gas emissions. The SEIS is a necessary step to evaluating a key permit the refinery needs in order to be built. Join us in calling on the Department of Ecology to recognize the massive environmental impacts of this project, and deny it once and for all!
