Fix Democracy First Education Fund (FDFEF) is organized exclusively for non-profit educational purposes, specifically to increase public understanding of the problems confronting democracy in the United States and to promote awareness of solutions in the State of Washington. FDFEF focuses on voter engagement and increasing civic participation to help achieve fair elections and government policies that reflect the will of the people and not the power of money.
Goals for Fix Democracy First Education Fund (FDFEF) board and committee structure/operations:1. To ensure the FDFEF board of directors encompasses diversity in regards to age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, as well as geographic diversity, experience and representation;
2. To strengthen the board’s statewide presence so as to identify and coordinate voter engagement and organizing strategies and to build a sustainable organization; and
3. To clarify FDFEF’s committees and define roles, responsibility, leadership and committee operation.

c. Leadership i. In partnership with our 501(c)(4), guide the mission and direction

i. Hire/support/evaluate/discharge staff
ii. Review and approve annual budget
iii. Review and approve major organizational decisions, commitments, and plans
including expenditures,
loans, and leases
iv. Evaluate progress toward program and financial goals
v. Ensure the continuity of the organization through development of resources
vi. In conjunction with 501(c)(4), provide leadership on organizational transition,
structure and planning
vii. Conduct affairs of the board including board development, transition, and
effectiveness
