PORTLAND (WGME) -- A group is making sure Mainers have all the accessories they need to stay warm in the winter months.

Catholic Charities Maine marked Giving Tuesday with its third annual Wall of Warmth giveaway.

They gave away more than 200 handmade scarves and hats in Portland for those who may need a little extra help staying warm this winter.

"They love to be able to choose the color, the size, and many give them as a gift for the holidays, and so it's just nice to be able to do a little something extra this time of year because as it gets colder, these items come in handy," Catholic Charities Maine Communications Director Kathy Mockler said.

The handmade gear was donated by an organization in Florida and several local knitters in Maine.
